Savannah Ghost Pirates inaugural game at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, GA. The first professional hockey game in Savannah was played on November 5th, 2022 in front of a sold out crowd.
The Savannah Ghost Pirates celebrated the Stanley Cup Championship of their NHL Affiliate Vegas Golden Knights with a full rebrand! Video includes Chance – from the Vegas Golden Knights, and the debut of the drum line. This weekend take over won the Ghost Pirates & GPTV a league award for Best Theme Night in the 23/24 season.
The Ghost Pirates played a home/home series with the Jacksonville Icemen, both teams adopting 8bit variations of their logos & uniforms. The game presentation featured nearly all video game soundtrack music, music from the times, or 8bit variations of popular songs.
Building a World Class arena experience for sports fans in Savannah was essential to the success of the team. Many of our operators had limited hockey or real time experience before, but they embraced learning, and worked with excitement to be a part of a high functioning production.
Davy decided he wanted to lead the crowd through Queen’s epic Live Aid crowd interaction at Ghost Pirates games. He took the stage and channeled his Freddie Mercury!
We decided to take this very viral image of Travis Kelce yelling at Andy Reid and translate it into a noisemeter at a Ghost Pirates game. Staying in tune with mainstream content helps keep the team and experience relevant and fresh!
On-Ice Announcement of the 2024 ECHL All Star Classic coming to Savannah’s Enmarket Arena. This ceremony took place in the 1st intermission of the game. The game was played on January 15, 2024 in front of a sell out crowd, and the largest attended audience in team history. GPTV was responsible for both in-house production, and for broadcast on NHL Network.
This preshow featured Savannah Mayor Van Johnson, and a salute to an arena staff who battled and defeated cancer through our season.
520 Wings is a sponsor of the Ghost Pirates at Enmarket Arena, and in celebration of their hottest sauce – Ghost Pepper – we held several “520 Wings Ghost Pepper Challenge” contest in intermissions.
The TODAY Show visited Savannah’s Forsyth Park to celebrate the region being a top summer travel destination. Davy and the Ghost Pirates made sure to represent sports & hockey fans across Savannah!
A huge motivating factor for me is helping to develop, empower and lead people to do perform at their very best abilities.
